Below are my three older dogs who did not make it in the show ring but are desexd family pets now.

This is my first dog, and my introduction to Alaskan Malamutes.  Cheyenne proved to be a massive learning curve, as not only was he our first mal, but our first dog ever and he was the most dominant in his litter, but he is the reason for my passion in this breed.

Right from the moment he was born, Cheyenne was something else, he always was a big boy tipping the scales at 10kg (22ib) at 8 weeks when he came home with no added fat.

Even though his neck is too short, his tail crooked, his eyes too round and pale and a horrible front and rear, he is yet to be equalled with coat and bone.  His coat is the thickest coat I have ever felt with stunning texture to match and bone so big you can't get your hands around it, he is also extraordinarily light on his feet he looks big and cumbersome to some, but he can gait like a dog half his size, he truly floats on the end of his lead THIS IS A SLED DOG WHO WOULD GET YOU WHERE YOU NEED TO GO !!!!!

Now at 12 years of age, he has slowed down considerably but he is still master of his domain, all his pack respect his position as the leader.

Dancer, my second dog and my only bitch at the moment.

As I was happy with Cheyennes look at the time I decided that I would get a bitch from the breeder of his father and my dear friend Dulcie Sullivan of Polstars Kennels.

Dulcie offered me pick bitch of her last litter ever to be bred, an exciting new blood line that she was hoping to make an impact on the Victorian show scene.

Dancer on the other hand had other ideas, she lifted her fist ear when she was 15 months old and her second ear when she was 4 years old!!!!

A slow maturing bitch, she did not hit the ring until she was 3 years old and in the neuter class, which she won every time she went out no matter who she went up against.

Dancer never had puppies, but she raised Yoshi and Mackqui when they came home from there breeders, Dancer took up where there mother left off, making there transition to there new home easier, to this day she still seems to get clucky over puppies and kittens.

This is my third dog, Mackqui (pronounced MAK - Q - EE) was purchased from a local breeder in Melbourne.

Mackqui has been plagued with heath problems most of his life, which started at 11 weeks when he developed a particularly bad case of panostitis or panno as it is also known, which lead into hip dysplasia as he turned 12 months old.

Mackqui is the sweetest dog ever born he loves everyone and everything that he meets and never has a nasty word to say, he plays happily with my two other dogs and girl.  When Mackqui turned two he proved his temperament by getting his therapy certification test (a basic temperament and obedience test) which he passed with flying colours.

I did not show Mackqui much as he is a fluffy, I know what your saying he does not look like a fluffy? But he is, his coat is long and soft and he would not survive in the artic.

I believe we as show people are the guardians of the breed we owe it to the judges to only show the BEST examples of the breed to them or they will think that this is the way the breed should be, then we are in trouble.
